Super Stop
Goal:
Never again be sensitive to rotation and cut!
Characteristics:
The Super Stop, at approximately 22 grams, is an absolute lightweight among rubbers. The topsheet is only slightly roughened and very thin. The blackish-gray topsheet of the anti-top is the opposite of the sponge, which is a bright yellow. Both the topsheet and the sponge are considered to be on the hard side.
The Super Stop is available in sponge thicknesses of 1.5 mm and 1.9 mm.
For the anti-top beginner:
The Super Stop, with its slightly roughened, hard topsheet, is very well suited for beginners using an anti-topspin rubber. It offers significantly more control than a smooth anti-topspin rubber.
This is how the Super Stop is played::
The super stop removes all of the ball's rotation.
You'll experience unparalleled control while playing thanks to the slow, slightly grippy anti-topspin. Spin is completely neutralized, allowing for extremely safe and controlled passive shots.
If you aggressively spike the ball over the table, the Super Stop will also generate strong spin. The opponent's spin is simply mirrored and amplified by small, quick movements of the forearm. Due to its moderate speed, the anti-topspin has no problem returning powerful shots with control. The ball then flies with a very flat curve to the opponent's side of the table. Furthermore, the Super Stop manages to play the ball at medium depth to your opponent's side, making it difficult for them to attack it fully.
In attacking play, pushing the ball against backspin and especially the side sweep are very dangerous.
Sebastian's tip:
Even if you haven't played with an anti-spin rubber before, it's worth taking a closer look at the Sauer & Tröger Super-Stop and giving it a try. Especially if you don't feel confident enough playing with long pimples or smooth anti-spin rubbers and tend to make mistakes, then the Super-Stop is a real insider tip.
Conclusion:
If you've previously had problems with your opponent's serve or topspin, then the Super Stop is exactly the right rubber for you. Your balls will no longer fly across the table, and any spin will be eliminated.
